| es_PE |
dc.description.abstract | Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd) is considered an important food in the diet for its excellent protein quality and an alternative to reduce the negative effect of climate change due to its tolerance to drought and salinity. It is important to evaluate the degree of tolerance of water stress of quinoa to recommend an adequate management in areas with limited water availability. The present research aims: (1) To determine the effect of hydric stress on the agronomic traits and on the response to mildew (Peronospora variabilis) (2) To determine the variations on the physiological and biochemical characters in response to hydric stress and (3) To determine the effect of hydric stress on grain quality components of four genotypes. Two commercial varieties (INIA Salcedo and Amarilla Sacaca) and two mutant lines (MQ AM 250-283 and MQ Pas-50) were used and two trials were manage exactly under two environments; the control, which had normal irrigation, and the irrigation deficit environment or hydric stress. The MQ Pas-50 mutant line excels in the variables plant height, yield and harvest index for the control and hydric stress experiment compared to the other genotypes. The earliest genotype was the commercial variety INIA Salcedo with 43 days (control) and 45 days (hydric stress) for the variable days to flowering and 96 days (control and hydric stress) for the variable days to maturity; likewise, I present the lowest performance for both environments. In addition, it was observed that the genotypes didnt show tolerance to mildew affecting up to 50% of the leaf, in both environments. Regarding the physiological and biochemical characters, the chlorophyll content did not present significant differences between the genotype environment interaction; however, the relative water content showed significant differences between the genotype environment interaction in the first and second evaluation. In proline content was observed a slight increase in proline content ranging from 0.0329 ug/ug (control) to 0.0335 ug/ug (hydric stress), once applied water stress. Finally, the MQ Pas-50 mutant line presented a greater weight with 3.73 g (control) and 3.88 g (hydric stress) per thousand seeds. | en_US |
